Description
Located on the western side of Cape York, the Aurukun Shire Council required a shade solution for their Splash Park. Sail Structures and Wright Outcomes met council on site. The sail had to take into account Australian Standards for clearance of play equipment, existing light posts, tamper proofing and access. A two sail design with a demountable cable system was Engineered.
Materials were freighted to site using a local freight company. Sail Structures mobilised to site for installation of posts, final measures and installation of the sails. Aurukun Shire Council staff and local contractors were involved in the installation. Council Staff were instructed on take down and reinstallation procedures for future asset management.
Hot dip galvanised posts and Monotec 370 with 90% UV-R protection were selected to withstand the harsh conditions.
